I prepare and encapsulate every beautiful placenta with professional expertise as well as the utmost love and care. I work with non-latex gloves in a well-sanitized workspace. I always use purified water and vegetarian capsules, which are easily consumed like vitamins. With focus on the sacred task at hand, I infuse loving intention into your placenta medicine.
Please choose between the following encapsulation methods:
Many women prefer their placentas to be encapsulated raw based on the idea that heat destroys vital enzymes in food. It may also be the case that the raw method yields a medicine with more hormones and nutrients than the TCM method. When your placenta capsules are prepared using the raw method, the placenta is thoroughly washed, carefully diced and dried, all without being exposed to temperatures higher than 118F. This method may take slightly longer, but often results in more capsules that may have higher nutritional content.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory, the process of labor and birth leaves a lot of open, empty space, which is considered very yin, or cold. Therefore, many women seek to promote healing during the postpartum period by adding yang energy via what Chinese herbalists refer to as "heat". Using the TCM method, I gently steam the placenta with lemon, ginger and chili to add this heat, before dehydrating and placing in capsules. I steam for a short time so as to preserve the quality of the placenta. The final result is a warming, tonifying, and nourishing remedy for the postpartum.
Additional Placenta Services
Placenta Tincture— $45
Placenta tincture can be used in times of trauma, transition, emotional distress, and hormonal fluctuations such as PMS and menopause. The tincture is highly shelf stable, lasting many years, and can even be made into a homeopathic remedy for the child. I tincture your placenta in a high grade alcohol and provide you with approximately 8 oz of tincture in an amber glass dropper bottle. This process takes 6 weeks, and is an additional $45 when combined with encapsulation. Placenta tincture ONLY (no capsules) is $200.
Placenta Print — $15
I use your whole placenta to create a beautiful "tree of life" print on high-quality watercolor paper. The print is available at the time of the capsules.
Yoni Steaming Herbs and Seat — $75
Yoni steaming is a traditional postpartum practice that helps to facilitate healing and toning of the uterus and vagina. Learn more here.
